The meeting will be held in conjunction with CTOS starting November 13th with the SARC meeting at The Landmark Hotel, Marylebone / Regents Park, Central London. As this hotel is much too expensive to stay for most of the group members, we decided to hold the group meeting at The Royal Marsden. Everybody should be able to fly into London in the morning and be there in time.
Honorary Membership to Allan van Oosterom
At the most recent meeting, the EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group awarded Honorary Membership to Allan van Oosterom, former Head of the Deparment of Medical Oncology at Leuven.
The group respected the outstanding merits of Professor van Oosterom during the development of STBSG to a world leading organization in the field of sarcoma treatment. The development of targeted therapy and implementation of translational research to clinical studies characterized the work of Professor van Oosterom during his role as a Chairman and Treasurer of STBSG.

STBSG Scientific Symposium & Spring Meeting
Kunsthalle Mannheim, April 6 - April 8, 2006
The EORTC STBSG provides a platform for international collaborators to discuss scientific topics in the treatment and diagnosis of soft tissue sarcoma. The 2nd scientific symposium in Mannheim focussed on the three major topics
- Current standards in the treatment of GIST
- The potential role of antiangiogenic agents in sarcoma treatment
- Diagnostic tools to select patients to targeted therapies
