The group runs two translational research projects. We obtained grants for

Assessment of Molecular Determinants of Development and Treatment Efficacy
in Radiation-Induced Sarcoma (RIS)

The project comprises a biological analysis of radiation induced sarcoma on
retrospective data set and a tumor bank collected from the STBSG. More than
200 patient files and approx. 100 tumor samples are analysed.
First data analysis was presented during the 9th Annual Meeting of the
Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), Barcelona, 6-8, 2003


The second project is run by Allan van Oosterom:

Molecular analysis of GIST tumour samples for patients included in the EORTC
62005 trial

The aim of this project is to correlate response to treatment as well as
survival to the mutational status of c-kit in patients treated with imatinib
